Delaware football has entered a new era, but its story didn't begin with the move to FBS.
Long before that change, the Blue Hens had already built one of college football's more distinctive identities: Revolutionary roots behind an unusual nickname, a stadium dating to 1952, championship history and a coach whose Wing-T offense became almost inseparable from Delaware football itself.

Why Delaware?
Plenty of college football programs have history. Delaware has a fighting chicken tied to Revolutionary folklore, live Blue Hens appearing at football games, a legendary coach associated with one of the sport's most recognizable offensive systems and an old stadium now experiencing an entirely new FBS life.
That's a pretty good set of keys for one vault.
