Four Years in the White House

Donald Trump's first administration began on January 20, 2017, following his victory in the 2016 presidential election. His inaugural address emphasized an "America First" approach to government.

The administration signed the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act in 2017, pursued restrictions on immigration, renegotiated North American trade arrangements, and established the United States Space Force in 2019. Trump also appointed three justices to the U.S. Supreme Court.

In foreign policy, the administration pursued direct talks with North Korea, withdrew the United States from several international agreements, and helped broker the Abraham Accords between Israel and several Arab states.

The final year of Trump's first term was shaped by the COVID-19 pandemic, nationwide protests, and the 2020 presidential election. His presidency ended on January 20, 2021.

Our R006 card imagines three symbolic fragments representing the first presidency: inauguration flag fabric, an executive-order document, and a White House column fragment. The accessible reader explains each one.
