The Rise and Fall of Trump Shuttle
In 1989, Trump acquired Eastern Air Lines' shuttle operation in a transaction valued at approximately $365 million. The new Trump Shuttle operated Boeing 727 aircraft and promoted upscale interiors and premium service.
The airline faced substantial debt, competition, and economic difficulties. After financial problems and changes in control, the operation became USAir Shuttle in 1992.
